I met Evie for the first time in the first week of college and we immediately clicked. I only met Phil in person in May, after many phone calls over several years. Both of these people are so special to me and I am so honored to be a part of their wedding! My favorite movie is What’s Up Doc? (1972) Fun fact: I know the heights of most U.S. presidents. Kaylie was initiated into the Golden girl gang the night of Irene’s 25th birthday party. She was worried about impressing her girlfriend’s very cool older sister. Evie couldn’t have made her feel more comfortable. From cooking her famous mac n cheese and helping Kaylie and Irene paint their apartment to celebrating a few more birthdays together, Evie’s always made her feel like part of the family. Fun fact: Kaylie’s dog Beezus is named after Beatrice Quimby from the Beverly Cleary books. Beezus attends most family events but won’t be able to make it to the wedding as she can’t stand to leave the city in September. She’s promised to send a very nice wedding gift. I met Evie in the infant room in preschool! Legend has it that we cried when separated (which is probably true since we still do that). One time in elementary school, Marsha (Evie’s mom) called my house and told me that “Evie has had a hard day and needs to talk to you”. Now whenever I have a hard day I call Evie because it might have been a hard day, but I got to talk to my best friend. It is amazing to have known Evie through every phase of her life (including the fart joke obsession), and it was so special to see her fall in love with Phil. Now I have two friends to call when I have a bad day! We spent lots of fun nights watching movies, sharing meals, and passing the time when Phil, Evie, Grayson and I lived together. You heard that right - four people, one NYC apartment! I met Phil when I first moved to New York from Atlanta, Georgia. I knew no one else from the city, and I couldn’t have asked for a better friend and roommate to make me feel right at home in NYC! I remember bar-tending Phil and Evie’s first virtual date. Not sure how I was supposed to offer her a cocktail over zoom, but I remember sparks flying even over the phone. Pretty soon, Phil introduced her in person, and I knew they had a special connection. I’m so excited to see these two amazing people tie the knot! Favorite movie - The Lord of the Rings, specifically the extended editions! The original cuts are for amateurs. Fun fact - I took hip hop dance classes as a kid. Phil and I met at Fairfield University through working on film projects and going to the movies every Thursday night with a group of students and one of our professors. It was Junior year when we became housemates that we really hit it off. Don’t ask about the flourless chocolate cake! Phil is one loyal friend and when we both ended up living in Brooklyn we continued to go to the movies together. One day Phil told me about his girlfriend, Evie. I had a feeling this was not just any girlfriend! Some time later Phil introduced me to Evie and let me tell ya - I cannot think of anyone better for Phil. I have since moved back to my home state of Maine but whenever my wife and I visit NYC Phil and Evie find a way to share a meal with us. What an amazing couple! My favorite movie is always changing but right now I’ll say Whiplash. A fun fact about me is that I worked in the camera department on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and The Blacklist. After I started dating Phillip's sister, Alex, I wanted to take Phillip and Alex out to lunch. Alex had a business commitment come up and was no longer able to attend. I thought it would be a great opportunity to learn about Phillip. What I learned is Phil is easy to hang out with, a great story teller, but the world’s slowest eater. Completing 10 wings in less than 3 hours. I always looked at Phil as a brother and I am excited for the big day. I was lucky enough to share a room with Phil for 6 years while dating his sister. There’s not an air mattress on this green, green earth that doesn’t immediately remind me of him.
